ASSOCHAM J&K launches committee on women entrepreneurship

JAMMU, Mar 8: ASSOCHAM J&K today launched a committee on women entrepreneurship.
Speaking on the occasion, Manik Batra , Chairman ASSOCHAM J&K said we are the first trade body in the state who took women entrepreneurship seriously.
There are lot of women today in business who are not only supporting their families but creating a lot of employment in the state .
Dr Alim, Co Chairman ASSOCHAM J&K added that we all are working in similar work environment and facing similar problems they also need to be represented at the right platform.
He encouraged more women entrepreneurs to join and make the chapter stronger .
The thought behind the formation of Women committee is that career women require a structured network to meet likeminded women to discuss and overcome challenges that they might be facing at the workplace.
Women committee is formed with a view to works towards enabling women to become better professionals and achievers in their respective fields through initiatives and activities to facilitate: A supportive network, A platform to learn and exchange ideas, An avenue to network and grow. This is supplemented by exposing women to new opportunities presented by the ecosystem with the objective of inclusion and growth of women in the workforce.
Dr Sophia Jan, Anu Behl, Tanvi Gupta, Himani Batra and Sona Batra were among the prominent women present at the launch.
Heads of working Committees Sanjay Gupta, Bhisham Batra and Bhupesh Gupta were also present.
