2 German nationals asked not to venture out of hotel

JAMMU, Mar 8: In order to follow the guidelines issued by the Government of India with regard to measures needed to be taken to prevent the spread of dreaded Coronavirus, the administration in Kishtwar District has stopped the two German geologists who are on a visit to Kishtwar for onwards journey to Paddar area some 60 kms from Kishtwar town.
As per the details available with Early Times, both German geologists were intercepted by the authorities before they were about to leave the hotel situated in the outskirts of Kishtwar town and were asked not to venture outside as a precautionary measure following surfacing of Coronavirus cases in their country. A senior health official while talking to Early Times said that there is no need to panic since both the foreigners had so far not developed any symptoms and both are behaving normally adding that duo had been advised to follow the procedure. He said that the German nationals after completion of the required period will be allowed to go.
Meanwhile in order to review the preparedness of the District Administration to combat the spreading of corona virus, DC Kishtwar Rajinder Singh Tara today visited District Hospital Kishtwar and reviewed the establishment of various facilities there.
He was accompanied by the ADDC Kishtwar Mohammad Hanif Malik, ADC Kishtwar Pawan Parihar, CMO Kishtwar Dr Ravinder Manhas, Medical Superintendent DH Kishtwar Dr Tariq Parveez and other officials.
During his visit, DC Kishtwar took detailed inspection of minutest things in the 11 bedded 2 Isolation wards and 14 bedded Quarantine house both established at District Hospitals Kishtwar as well as in another 10 bedded quarantine house establishment at Bursar Guest House at NHPC colony .
These specially designed quarantine houses have been created outside the main hospital in order to ensure the safety of other patients.
