Jammu, Mar 28: A FIR was lodged under Section 505 (statements conducing to public mischief) of the India Penal Code, 1860 (IPC) in Nagrota police station against unidentified persons who are alleged to be indulged in spreading rumours about Corona Virus (COVID-19).
As per the case FIR no. 146/2020, some people were spreading rumors that two cases of Jagti block 172 have been found positive and block sealed. Jammu Police has warned of strict action against rumour-mongers who spread misleading and unverified information on social media regarding COVID-19. Police has also appealed to all to publish or share news related to coronavirus after confirming it from authorized sources. |
