6 arrested in Bandipora for violating restriction orders | 7 female medical students reveal travel history voluntarily, go for quarantine | | S TAHIR-UL HAQ

BANDIPORA, Mar 29: On the directions of District Magistrate Bandipora, the Bandipora Police on Sunday booked six people in Chandergeer area of Hajin town for violating restriction orders issued by the District Magistrate Bandipora, while as seven students revealed their travel history and went for quarantine. Two FIRs have been registered in Police Station Hajin under FIR No 11 and 12 under section 188 IPC at Police station Hajin against six persons who violated the restriction orders thereby risking their own lives and the lives of others. All the accused have been arrested by the Hajin Police during patrolling in the area. Earlier six persons were arrested by the Hajin Police on Friday who also violated the restriction orders. On Thursday, an open FIR was registered at Police Station Pethkoot against people who assembled near ATM in contravention to the Section 144 restrictions. Appealing the public to stay indoors for their own safety, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora said that the chain of this pandemic can be broken only by staying indoors. He said more cases have been reported in the district and warned of strict action against people who risk the lives of others by violating restriction orders. He appealed the general public to cooperate with the administration and ensure strict adherence to the order. He said violation of the order would constitute criminal offence and attract strict action under Section 188 of IPC. With regard to sanitation, Deputy Commissioner said that intensive sanitation cum fumigation drives are being carried out throughout the district by Municipalities to contain the spread of Coronavirus infection. However, sources informed Early Times that there are about 160 persons under administrative quarantine in 20 quarantine centers of the district. They said that seven female medical students revealed their travel history to the administration and voluntarily came for quarantine for the safety of their family and for the community in general, adding these students appealed the people having travel history to go in quarantine to save lives. “There is nothing to worry about quarantine. It is for our own safety”, sources while quoting the seven students as having said. Meanwhile, DC Bandipora appealed the people to reveal their travel history voluntarily. He said the administration has started an online portal wherein people can reveal travel history. He said administration will assist such people in best possible way so that the community can be protected from the spread of virus. He said arrangements have been made for free pick and drop facility for such people. |
