Jammu, April 18: Shiv Mandir, Bharat Nagar Bantalab in collaboration with Pt. Dina Nath Sharma Charitable Trust on the occasion of annual Bhandara scheduled on April 18th which stands cancelled due to ongoing lockdown imposed; distributed essential raw food item packets to the needy people in the locality nearby.
This initiative was taken in order to extend helping hand to the needy people who were running out of food items in this time of Pandemic. Members of the trust were engaged to distribute these food packets at doorstep of the needy people and all the norms related to social distancing and safety were strictly adhered with.
The main idea behind organizing event in such a manner was to give message to the society that religious functions/gatherings can also be used as a medium to serve society and helping hand can be extended to the needy people.
