Jammu, April 18: A team of senior leaders of District Congress Committee Jammu urban today carried forward the relief distribution in the Ambphala, old Rehari area of the city, as part of the efforts of the party to supplement the efforts of the administration to provide ration to the poor. Led by Yogesh Sawhney Former Minister and General Secretary PCC, incharge District President Jammu Urban, senior leader and contested candidate Jammu West Sdr S S Shingari, Secretary PCC Neeraj Gupta, chairman PCC OBC Dept Suresh Dogra, Varun Mangotra, coordinator DCC, Ricky Dalotra PYC General Secretary, the team distributed the ration material to the needy people in the area, based upon inputs of the party’s control room. The relief materials are being distributed to the most deserving sections who are required to be fed during the lockdown, as per directions of the party, so that those who are left out, should not suffer due to lack of adequate ration by the government, whose primary responsibility is to provide necessities of life. Speaking on behalf of the DCC, Sawhney said that the effort of the party is to reach out to the most affected and neglected sections of the society at this hour of crisis and to supplement the efforts of the administration, while highlighting the shortcoming and shortfall in the system. He said that the leaders and workers of the party including various units at grass root level as well as all frontal wings of the party are involved in the relief measures of various sorts, on their own, on voluntary basis, to help the poor people, in their respective areas especially in their surroundings, as advised by the party high command and the PCC leadership. |
