Amid COVID 19, people restore to Hydel mills to grind food grains | | | Asif Iqbal Naik
Kishtwar April 18: Their is a famous proverb “Old is Gold” and at the time when whole world including India is facing the open challenge from COVID 19– the people in Chatroo area of Kishtwar District restore to old ancient ways to grind the wheat, Maize and Barley. As per the details available with Early Times, at the time when whole world is lockdown— the people everywhere goes through tough times to arrange the meals and in these testing times, the ancient Hydel mills are helping the people to come out of the crises. In Chatroo areas these Hydel mills seems chunking with sounds of grinding of grains between the two huge stone with water pushing these stones crushing the grains into floor easing out the situation for the common people who are suffering during all these testing times. Speaking to Early Times, Hydel mill owner Abdul Gani said that government had provided two months ration to the people in the form of wheat grains added that keeping in view of restrictions— they are following the guidelines issued by the government including maintaining social distancing. He said that keeping in view of looming threat due to Coronavirus, Abdul Gani said that people are coming at this Hydel mill and drop the food grains and later they came in and lift the grinned floor. He said that they are taking all the measures including social distancing. He said that they charge one kg Atta for grinding 10 kg wheat as labour charges. Speaking to Early Times, GRS Ajaiz Sheikh and Mohammad Yousaf said that they are keeping an eye on all these Hydel mills operating in this area and regularly aware them about importance of social distancing, use of masks and sentizers. They said that situation is being monitored regularly in the entire area. They said that people are cooperating with the administration.
