“15 Lakh people to be screened in a week”
4/26/2020 9:51:33 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, April 26: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member, Raman Suri, today urged people of Jammu to cooperate with the Government (District Administration), which is going to start an extensive health survey to detect ailing patients with special reference to Coronavirus.
He said that teams of health workers will be visiting each and every household to enquire about the health of all members and will fill in some questionnaire with regard to their health. This process must be allowed to be conducted amicably.
Raman Suri urged people of all localities of Jammu to cooperate with the visiting official teams so that a complete data of health conditions of each one of us is recorded. Deputy Commissioner Jammu Sushma Chauhan, who is considered among the best officers of J&K and is doing great during this COVID-19 crisis, has undertaken this mega task and once completed, it will help break the chain of virus. He informed that about 1400 teams will be fanned in entire Jammu to conduct the survey, which will be completed within a week.
During the survey these teams, led by BLOs, will be visiting every household to check the symptoms of virus, and if any symptom is found, then a medical team will visit that particular household to check suspected patients. The sooner a person is tested positive for coronavirus, the better medical care he or she will be provided by the government. Since the success rate of recoveries in Jammu is also high, indicating that we will be able to clear the district of coronavirus in one go.
Raman Suri added that people of Jammu, irrespective of where they live, are all cooperating with government and following the advisories religiously. “If we maintain this sanctity of following Lockdown and help Government in getting ourselves tested for virus in this household survey, we will be able to make our district virus free and will also be able to lift the Lockdown”, Raman Suri said, adding that this colossal exercise is going to test about 15 Lakh people in just one week.
Raman Suri appreciated the Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sushma Chauhan, for taking this initiative and involving about 1400 officials, who will be conducting this extensive health survey in Jammu district within a specified time span.
He said that Sushma Chauhan is personally monitoring the response of officials to this COVID-19 war. Every day, Deputy Commissioner office is also scanning hundreds of applications and issuing passes to just and genuine people in need of medical aid as well. This is a welcome step.
