2000 persons under administrative quarantine, 2500 complete their period
44 Quarantine facilities established at Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, May 3: To combat the spread of Corona Virus (COVID-19) pandemic in Udhampur, District Administration has established 44 quarantine centres with bedding capacity of 3177 at different locations across the district.
In addition to these quarantine centres, the District Administration has designated three Dedicated COVID-19 Health Centres (DCHC) with capacity of 200 beds and seven COVID Care Centres (CCC) with a capacity of 1000 beds.
Advisor to Lieutenant Governor Farooq Ahmed Khan, Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam along with Principal Secretary Planning and Information Rohit Kansal and Divisional Commissioner Sanjeev Verma have reviewed the facilities at these quarantine centres, and expressed their satisfaction.
District Administration also segregated quarantine centres for high risk /Low risk category and these quarantine centres are established at Hotel Singh Axis, Gaddi & Sippi Hostel, GDC Boys Udhampur, Hotel Sasan, Narsingh Dev Para Medical Centre, Boys Hostel GDC Udhampur. District Administration has established quarantine centres in some hotels also.
In the district, over 2000 persons have been put under Administrative quarantine and 1500 under home quarantine and near about 2500 people have completed their quarantine period so far including persons having travel history of other districts/states.
The District Administration is making efforts to contain any kind of COVID-19 outbreak in the district and till date, all the chains of COVID-19 positive cases have been traced and all suspects tested. All contacts of the positive cases have been put under administrative quarantine. The District Administration has ensured best facilities like quality bedding, hygiene, electricity, sanitation, water facility, food etc in these quarantine centers.
The District Administration Udhampur has appointed Nodal officers and duty magistrates for all the locations to monitor the situation round the clock closely. Fumigation of these sites is done by Udhampur Municipality regularly.
Out of 19 positive COVID-19 cases in Udhampur, 18 have recovered and discharged from hospital and unfortunately, one patient has died. Four zones in Udhampur, Tikri, Magani, Ramnagar and Narsoo have been declared as red zones. Since no fresh cases have been detected from the district so its status has been changed to orange. District Administration has made effective and elaborate arrangements for providing the essential services to the people in District during the lockdown period.
