Batwal Buddha Sabha to organize ‘bhandara’ on Buddha Purnima | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 6: All J&K Batwal Buddha Sabha will celebrate the Buddha Purnima, also known as Buddha Jayanti, an auspicious day that marks the birth anniversary of Lord Gautama Buddha, with religious fervour and gaiety tomorrow but the festivities will respect and obey all the guidelines of the ongoing lockdown. Addressing a press conference in Bishnah today, the Sabha chairman Ajay Nanda and president Jai Bharat said that to mark the auspicious day of Buddha Purnima it will be ensured that the all the procedures of lockdown will be followed. They said that on the occasion a ‘Bhandara’ will be organized and the ‘Prasad’ will be also distributed among the masses adding that as no one is supposed to come out of their houses due to lockdown restrictions, the food will be delivered at the door steps of the people especially for those needy who are finding no ways and means to arrange meals for themselves in these testing times. The Sabha office bearers and members appealed the people to stay in homes and follow the lockdown guidelines in a proper manner.
