RAJOURI, July 4: In an effort to support girl students continue their studies through e-learning amid COVID19, Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh, on Saturday handed over smartphones to two girl students of class 7th standard, Halima and Sofia of Rajouri district under BBBP campaign. Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh, District Statistical and Evaluation Officer, Bilal Rashid Mir and Women Welfare Officer, Anum Mirza were present on the occasion. Deputy Commissioner, who is also the Chairman of District Level Task Force for BBBP campaign in the district, said that the district administration is committed to take up all possible steps for upliftmentment of women in the society. He added that the district administration has taken a number of initiatives for women welfare amid COVID-19 including distribution of sanitary kits, stationery items, linen articles, ration kits among women and girl students. Moreover, incentives in the form of cash were also provided to affected women/girls for treatment during COVID-19 under BBBP campaign.
