JKAP castigates BJP for befooling border residents, demands roll back of recruitment process | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SAMBA, July 7: Castigating the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) for befooling people of Jammu on the name of reservation to border residents, Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKPA), senior leader, and former minister Manjit Singh said Government had announced 4% reservation in recruitments and professional educational institutions to the residents of International Border which has not been reflected in the newly advertised posts of Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB). “The BJP has befooled the people and played politically with the emotion of the people living in border areas who were facing negligence from the last 70 years,” said former minister Manjit Singh expressing his serious concern over the misleading assurances by the national party to the people who trusted them and voted them to power. The JKAP senior leader said that “The JKSSB has invited applications to fill-up the vacant posts of different categories but the reservation for the International Border has not been mentioned in the list of advertised posts.” Anguished over the misleading advertisement, the former minister warned that the people in border areas will not tolerate any more discrimination on the name of hollow slogans and assurances by the political parties for their political mileage. “The JKSSB must withdraw the notification until it includes the reservation for the International Border residents for the posts it has advertised to fill-up,” demanded the JKSP senior leader. Manjit Singh said that the Government should understand the people along the IB face bullets and have remained witness to the cross border clashes with Pakistan. He said that Actual Line of Control (ALC) has been mentioned as reserved category, and apprehended a conspiracy to deprive border residents from being recruited in the government services. |
