Frustrated attempts by terrorists won’t stop tourism revival in J&K: TFJ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, July 9: Tourism Federation of Jammu (TFJ) condemned the gruesome killing of BJP leader Sheikh Wasim Bari, his father Bashir Ahmad and his brother Umer Bashir in an indiscriminate firing by terrorists in Bandipora on Wednesday. Members of the Tourism Federation of Jammu Chairman Rajesh Gupta, Gen Secy Raman Suri, Amrik Singh, B B Kotwal, Tapan Dubey, Gaurav Gupta and others extended their condolences to the bereaved family and said, it is unfortunate to see such cowardly acts by militants, however, the entire nation stands by the family of Wasim Bari and all the three killings will be avenged with a stronger blow. This cowardice act was done just a day after the decision was taken by J&K administration for reopening of tourism in J&K, the detailed guidelines and SoPs for which were to be issued by the Government shortly. Now, even the Gardens and Parks have been opened for general public, with proper thermal screening at entry gates and other precautions to contain the spread of coronavirus. Also, the Government is planning to start the Holy Shri Amarnath ji Yatra for 15 days, which would be seeing a good number of pilgrims despite COVID-19 crisis. The revival of Tourism industry has just begun, especially after the blow by COVID-19 crisis. The terrorists are not able to digest this as a flourishing tourism industry will lead to a prosperous J&K and throw these militants out of J&K. Thus, these militants are carrying out such acts out of frustration with an aim to derail the Tourism Revival Process in J&K and demoralize the tourists as well as service providers. |
