Farmers Producer Organization programme for ex-servicemen held | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 11: J&K Grameen Bank under the chairmanship of Janak Raj Angural participated in Farmers Producer Organization programme for ex-servicemen at Ramgarh organized by 7th Battalion JAK Rifles. The theme of the programme was to create awareness about effective marketing of agricultural produce among Army Ex-servicemen with assistance and support already provided by J&K Grameen Bank. Amit Laira, Regional Manager Kathua and Samba, JKGB, explained the reason to enhance marketing for agriculture produce. He emphasized the benefits of forming FPO are marketing, hiring and sharing of equipment training, organize input supply including credit like Dairy DEDS, KCC, Allied Agriculture, Weaver Loan, etc. He said that majority of land holdings belong to small and marginal farmers and being unorganized they are unable to realize desired value from their produce. He also informs the gathering about the benefits of availing KCC credit cards and other Govt schemes that have been designed to provide the security to the poor population particularly to those who are working in unorganized sector Ram Paul Sharma, Chief Manager, Credit & Administrative Department JKGB, informed visitors about different loan schemes of the bank and also added that the interest rates on loan and advances in J&K Grameen Bank are one of lowest amongst other banks. While speaking on the occasion, Col Abhayraj Galande, CO 7 JAK RIF, said that J&K Grameen Bank has taken one of a leading roles in promoting collectives like farmers clubs, self-help groups and joint liability groups. |
