Siot-Kalakote Road Action Committee organises peaceful protest | | | Early Times Report
Kalakote, July 11: All the founder members of Siot-Kalakote Road Action Committee organised peaceful protest and submitted memorandum to the Lieutenant Governor through ADC Kalakote while observing social distancing and SOPs from Main Bazar, Kalakote to the office of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kalakote, District Rajouri. Chairman, SKRA Committee, Ashok Sharma said that the Prime Minister of India during his last visit to Rajouri in 2014 publicly announced that Kalakote will be developed and made Swarag (Heaven on earth) when main two issues were raised by the general public, (a) Siot-Kalakote Road (b) CBI investigation of triple murder case in Kalakote town but despite of 6 years, no step has been taken as yet. The then Hon’ble Chief Minister also physically announced at Kalakote that he himself will come to Kalakote by driving his own car via Siot-Kalakote double lane road, but his commitment met the same fate, he added. Sharma also pleaded that Siot-Kalakote road double laning project is pending from about one and a half decade and recently single lane Siot-Kalakote Road was macadamized but in few weeks it got damaged and it has again become impossible for the patients, particularly for pregnant women and serious accidental cases to reach Jammu for medical treatment. A day before yesterday, a young lady namely Naresh Devi W/O Babu Ram, leaving behind a minor son, R/o Village Panjah died for the want of immediate treatment as there was not even a single doctor posted or Ambulance available in Primary Health Centre, Panjah, Medical Block Kalakote and till she reached Kalakote, she died. We lack medical care facilities in Kalakote, Sharma further added.
