This is first time in the life of one of the oldest states in the Union of India which was reduced to a skeleton of a Union Territory comprises only one half of the territory of Jammu and Kashmir as nearly half of the territory of Jammu and Kashmir including POK, Gilgit-Baltistan as well as the Chinese controlled territories in Gilgit & Ladakh sector have been under an illegal occupation of Pakistan and China since 1948 in violation Security Council resolution on 13th January 1950. The Panthers Party has demanded holding Assembly election at the earliest so that a democratic government shall be restored in J&K with the involvement of the electorates of J&K.
