JAMMU, July 13: J&K Gurdwara Parbandhak Board, All DGPCs of J&K and various Sikh Bodies have thanked Jathedar Sri Akal Takhat Sahib Giani Harpreet Singh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, President Shiromani Akali Dal, Sukhbir Singh Badal, Gobind Singh Longowal Chief SGPC, Amritsar and Manjinder Singh Sirsa Chief of DSGMC for ensuring extension of democratically elected Distt Gurdwara Parbandhak Committees in J&K, in the wake of COVID-19. Tarlochan Singh Wazir Chairman J&K Gurdwara Parbandhak Board while addressing a joint press conference in Jammu, along with DGPC members and senior Sikh leaders of Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal), Sikh Welfare Front, AISSF J&K, Sikh Noujwan Sabha Sant Pura Dana Guru Nanak Nagar Jammu and many local Gurdwara Committees, said that visionary and logic stand of Jathedar Sri Akal Takhat Sahib endorsing the aspiration and stand of Sikh community in J&K, has paved the way for continuation of democratically elected Distt Gurdwara Parbandhak Committees, till fresh election are held. Other prominent Sikh leaders and representatives present in the press conference were Jathedar Mohinder Singh President Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) J&K Member DGPC Jammu, Jagjeet Singh President DGPC Jammu and Presidents DGPCs Kathua, Samba, Udhampur, Rajouri, Kishtwar and Ramban besides several others.
