JKATA demands compensation, job for kin of deceased Agri Officer | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, July 15: Jammu & Kashmir Agriculture Technocrats Association (JKATA) demanded adequate compensation and a government job for kin of the deceased Agriculture Officer, who succumbed due to COVID-19 infection. JKATA, president, Dr Surinder Radotra and other association members while expressing their sympathies with the bereaved family appealed to the administration especially Lieutenant Governor G C Murmu, Chief Secretary BV R Subramaniam and Principal Secretary Agriculture Department Navin K Chowdhary to enable the Agriculture warriors avail the risk coverage of Rs 50 lakh as insurance in case of any eventuality to the concerned on the pattern of medicos, as the Agri warriors are also fighting the pandemic from the fore front. The members said that since the agrocrats are working deep into various panchayats and remote villages where there is no provision of SOP nor the adequate facilities on ground levels in case of They said that there are no PPE kits available with the Agri warriors which would safe guard them from the catastrophic pandemic. Association urged the authorities at the helm of affairs to compensate the bereaved family by paying minimum of Rs 50 lakh as the late officer was quite young and had more than a decade of services at his back. It said that there's no other source of income to the bereaved family having six number of dependent as on date so it becomes a moral responsibility of the department to project an immediate employment to the next of the kin of the deceased. |
