SAMBA, July 19: Following orders of Samba district administration to impose lockdown restrictions in view of the sudden surge in COVID-19 positive cases in Vijapur tehsil till July 24, the Vijaypur town and other adjoining areas observed a complete lockdown on Sunday.
Only essential services, including clinics, chemist shops, and grocery shops and testing labs have been allowed to remain open from 9 am to 8 pm during the lockdown period.
Meanwhile, prominent persons of Vijaypur town welcomed the step taken by the administration to impose complete lockdown for breaking the chain of virus spread.
They expressed concern regarding the possible spreading of COVID-19 in community. However, it seems the people were cautious, they worn tmasks and very minimum mobility was seen in the market. The citizens suggested that the administration should issue the advisory to applicants for applying the online applications for issuance of domicile as well as other certificates so as to avoid unnecessary rush at Tehsil office. |
