Jat Sabha appreciates GoI for granting reservation rights to International Border residents | | | Early Times Report
Vijaypur, July 19: Jammu and Kashmir Jat Sabha has welcomed the decision of the Government of India granting 4 % reservation to the inhabitants of International Border. In a press statement, the meeting was organised to discuss the issues being faced by the people in border areas even as the reservation has been granted to them. The meeting was chaired by Former Minister Manjit Singh president jat sabha in which Ex-MLA Vikram Randhawa vice president, Ex-Minister Gharu Choudhary Sr.vice president, Taranjeet Singh Toni senior vice president Corporator Dwarka Choudhary District president Jammu, Manjit singh jat District president rural and others. During the meeting, the participants expressed their resentment against the ignorance of several deserving villages which have not been included in the list of reserved villages of International Borders. “Intentionally and un-internally several villages like Chak Salarian village, Bana Chak, Karalian, Bandral, and Trindi in Ramgarh Tehsil in Samba District have been neglected despite the fact that these villages fall within 0-6 km of the criteria set up by the Government,” said former minister and President, J&K Jat Sabha, Manjit Singh. The former minister expressed anguish over the negligence of the deserving villages and it should be reviewed. “The administration has been requested to be immediately reviewed to ensure justice with the ignored villages,” said the former minister. He said that the Jat Sabha has struggled for years for the rights of the border residents of Jammu division. “We are thankful to the Government of India for granting reservation to the border residents, but the leftover villages should be given their rights,” he added. He said that the revenue officials including Tehsildars should be directed to do the needful so that the grievances of the people.
