JKTJAC questions projecting teachers as fresher even after decades of service | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 5: Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) Thathri unit said that it is very unfortunate that despite completing B.Ed course through department, senior and well qualified teachers who are converted into Grade 2 and 3 after serving department for 10 to 15 years are being projected as fresher in front of MHRD by the department. Speaking to Early Times, member of the committee said this is discriminatory attitude of the department and they are going to meet on this issue to chalk out the future course of action. “We don’t oppose training programmes but choosing specific category of teachers to impart a training course by labeling them fresher despite serving for decades and having acquired B Ed degree is totally unjustified, discriminatory and injustice,” they said adding that not only they, but every teacher is opposing this training only because for this training status of teachers has been projected wrongly before MHRD which is incorrect on part of the department as our colleagues who have been transited as TG2 are well qualified having PG, B.Ed, M.Ed, PhD, NET, SET and a huge teaching experience in their respective subjects and so treating them as untrained and fresher is highly condemnable. JKTJAC Thathri demanded intervention of LG J&K as well as Principal Secretary Education to look into the matter and talk to SPD as early as possible so that this discriminatory training should be cancelled. They called for imparting training to those who are really freshers.
