Jammu, Aug 5: To curb the menace of illicit liquor distillation and illegal smuggling of liquor from neighbouring states, Excise officials on the directions of Excise Commissioner, J&K, Rajesh Kumar Shavan and under supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner( Executive) Jammu, S. Amarjeet Singh, today conducted series of raids on successive days at Sikanderpur, Tinde Khurd, Kothe Bulande,Salehar and Kotli Mian Fateh in the Excise sub range Bishnah and R.S Pura, of City Range South. On specific inputs, The Excise sleuths recovered a huge catche of illicit liquor concealed in sand dumped on road in Tinde Khurd village. Around 52 bottles of illicit liquor and 110 kg lahan was recovered in raids conducted on consecutive days. Besides, two persons were booked under section 48 of the Excise Act. The excise team was led by ETO Excise Range, Jammu South Rafie Naik, comprising Excise inspectors Ashwani Sharma, Excise, Sub Inspector Rohit Chib and Excise guard Ajay Sharma.
