Jammu, Aug 11: Vishal Khatri Sabha on Tuesday expressed serious concern over spike in corona cases in J&K. In a meeting held in Jammu today,Sabha’s President Davinder Seth said while appreciating administration for taking timely steps to deal this global pandemic and on the other hand maintained that ‘this is a disease anyone can get infected with. We cannot take the pandemic lightly. We all need to strictly maintain social distancing,’ he said.The government had issued strict guidelines in this regard and if people diligently follow the instructions, they need not worry about the community spread, he said. He urged everybody to follow all the rules and guidelines laid down by the government during the relaxation so that the country can succeed in it’s fight against the novel coronavirus pandemic.Let’s not just think about ourselves, we have to think about our children and grandchildren also. I don’t see any reason why we shouldn’t be disciplined. PM Modi has acknowledged the lockdown’s heavy toll, but says it’s necessary to save lives. Measures have been successful in helping to contain the virus, and that India is doing much better than many developed nations, added Seth. Acknowledging that the Covid pandemic and the lockdown have hit the poor the hardest, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced extension of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) for 80 crore people till the end of November.In the coming days, Govt must further strengthen their efforts and continuously work to empower the poor, downtrodden and deprived sections of society. While taking all the precautions, Govt should further expand economic activities to work ceaselessly for Atmanirbhar Bharat,” he said.
