SRINAGAR, Aug 11: As 604 Corona Virus patients recovered today the number of recoveries in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 17,979. Meanwhile, 564 fresh cases of virus were reported today and 12 more COVID-19 deaths took place in past 24 hours.
Srinagar reported 90 fresh cases of Corona Virus followed by Jammu 72 cases, Bandipora 67 cases, Baramulla 53 cases, Ganderbal 45 cases, Anantnag 42 cases, Budgam 39 cases, Pulwama 37 cases, Kupwara 33 cases, Kulgam 23 cases, Poonch 14 cases, Kathua 10 cases, Samba and Reasi seven cases each, Ramban and Udhampur six cases each, Kishtwar five cases, Rajouri four cases and Shopian and Doda two cases each.
Srinagar reported three fresh COVID-19 deaths followed by two deaths each in Jammu and Anantnag districts and a death each in Baramulla, Pulwama, Budgam, Ganderbal and Kupwara districts. The death toll due to virus in Jammu & Kashmir reached 490 with 453 deaths taking place in Kashmir division.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 564 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 133 from Jammu division and 431 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 25,931. Also 12 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; two from Jammu division and 10 from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 604 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 149 from Jammu Division and 455 from Kashmir Division. Out of 25,931 positive cases, 7,462 are active positive, 17,979 have recovered and 490 have died; 37 in Jammu division and 453 in Kashmir division. Out of 7, 38,203 test results available, 7, 12,272 samples have tested negative till date.
Additionally, till date 3, 98,400 travelers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for observation which included 40,902 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 7,462 in isolation and 49,355 under home surveillance. Besides, 3, 00,191 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 6,350 positive cases, 2,296 active positive, 3,897 recovered, 157 deaths; Baramulla has 2,231 positive cases, 484 active positive, 1,664 recovered, 83 deaths; Pulwama has 1,897 positive cases, 668 active positive, 1,197 recovered, 32 deaths; Kulgam has 1,642 positive cases, 176 active positive, 1,435 recovered, 31 deaths; Anantnag has 1,612 positive cases, 374 active positive, 1,203 recovered, 35 deaths.
“Budgam has 1609 positive cases, 458 active positive, 1,115 recovered, 36 deaths; Shopian has 1,536 positive cases, 124 active positive, 1,388 recovered, 24 deaths; Kupwara has 1,306 positive cases, 243 active positive, 1,035 recovered, 28 deaths; Bandipora has 1,168 positive cases, 520 active positive, 630 recovered, 18 deaths and Ganderbal has 734 positive cases, 315 active positive, 410 recovered, nine deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 1,685 positive cases, 754 active positive, 905 recovered, 26 deaths; Rajouri has 767 positive cases, 233 active positive, 531 recovered, three deaths; Udhampur has 631 positive cases, 194 active positive, 435 recovered, two deaths; Kathua has 612 positive cases, 88 active positive, 523 recovered, one death; Ramban has 611 positive cases, 39 active positive, 571 recovered, one death.
“Samba has 529 positive cases, 186 active positive, 342 recovered, one death; Doda has 317 positive cases, 29 active positive, 286 recovered, two deaths; Poonch has 289 positive cases, 108 active positive, 180 recovered, one death; Reasi has 235 positive cases, 142 active positive, 93 recovered and Kishtwar has 170 positive cases, 31 active positive, 139 recovered,” reads the bulletin. Out of 25,931 positive cases, 5,135 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
