KATHUA, Aug 11: High density fruit tree plantation drive was today launched by the horticulture department here. Director Horticulture Jammu, Ram Savak, kick started the drive by planting fruit tree saplings in the orchard of Ajay Singh at Lagate. The Director also visited the old orchard at Chann Ranga and inspected pit digging work of other projects to be taken up for the plantation during the rainy season. Earlier, he chaired a meeting of the officers of Samba and Kathua districts to review various ongoing developmental programmes taken up by the department. He reviewed progress under centrally sponsored schemes and district Capex budget. He also visited the Fruit Plant Nursery, Taraf Tajwal and Ludhwal of Kathua and inaugurated the CCTV system installed in the premises of Fruit Plant Nursery, Ludhwal. During the visit, the Director was accompanied by Deputy Director Horticulture, Jammu, Chief Horticulture Officer Kathua, Samba and Jammu, Deputy Director (Planning), Asstt. Director Horticulture, Jammu and other Officers.
