Narco-terrorism module busted in Rajouri, five held with 11 kg heroin

Jammu, Sept 19: Jammu and Kashmir Police have achieved a major success after recent recovery of seven kilograms of Heroin and arrest of five person who were running a narco-terrorism module recovering 11 kg of Heroine from them in total.
Police spokesman here said that the first success in this was achieved on September 14 when a team of Rajouri Police while checking the vehicles intercepted a vehicle at Hanwan Kallar and driver Tariq Ahmed Ghanie, son of Ghulam Ahmed Ghanie, was arrested and seven kilograms of Heroine was recovered from his possession.
A case under NDPS Act was registered and investigation started.
During course of investigation, the spokesman said that the accused initially disclosed the involvement of one more person namely Gowher Ahmed, resident of Buchroo, Kulgam who was later arrested and both the accused persons were put on sustained interrogation to unearth all the links of these peddlers and the source of this consignment.
Finally investigation team of Rajouri police succeeded in breaking the network of drug smugglers and arrested three more accused persons namely Aejaz Ahmed, resident of Ward no 2 Poonch, Tahir Iqbal, resident of Radio Station Mohalla Ward no 2, Poonch and Nizam Din, resident of Bagyal Dharra, Poonch.
Four Kilograms of Heroin was recovered from their possession during raids conducted by teams of Rajouri as well as Poonch police in the area of Poonch.
Total recovery in this case has been 11 kilograms with market value running into approximately 11 crores in International market.
During the course of investigation, it has come to fore that the arrested person were running a narco-terrorism module with definite links with Hizbul Mujahidin terror outfit and timely action of police averted their nefarious designs to succeed, he added.
