Hashish seized: ANTF probes links of Drug Dealers, source of consignment | | | EArly times Report
Jammu, Sept 19: Anti narcotics Task Force J&K Jammu foiled a smuggling bid and recovered a huge consignment of High Grade Hashish like substance running in crores and arrested two interstate smugglers who hailed from Ajmer. Senior Superintendent of Police ANTF J&K stated that an information from reliable sources was received by ANTF Jammu that one truck bearing registration number RJ10GB-3411 is parked Near Tawi Bridge Nagrota Narwal bye pass road Jammu in which large quantity of Hashish is concealed in/under apple boxes and is being smuggled from Kashmir Valley to out of UT by unknown persons. On this information a case under relevant section of NDPS Act was registered. During search of the above mentioned truck, 35 Kgs of Hashish like substance was recovered. In the case, the accused persons namely Ali Mohammad and Aamin Khan residents of Somalpur Ajmer Rajasthan have been arrested and are in police custody. “Initial investigation has revealed that this consignment was being transported from Kashmir to Mumbai. Sustained questioning from the accused is going on and we are working to unearth all the links of these drug dealers”, SSP ANTF Vinay Sharma said adding that all possible aspects including cross border smuggling are being probed in this case and more arrests are likely. He appealed to the general public to share information of narcotics related activities to ANTF and further appealed to all the parents and guardians to play their role in society and ensure to keep a check on the activities of their wards to prevent them from falling in such activities. |
