Despite being transferred ‘powerful’ DTI not yet relieved | | | A B Sharma
Early Times Report
SUNDERBANI, Sept 23: Some of the police officials feel that they are above law and as such they give a ‘damn’ to the orders issued by the higher ups of the department. Same was witnessed in this tehsil of Rajouri district. Sources told Early Times that on March 17, 2020, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Traffic issued order 79-2020 by virtue of which at least 10-12 DTIs or in-charge DTIs were shifted from their place of posting. Most of these officials joined their new place of posting but one among them did not pay heed to government order. “The in-charge DTI Sukhdev Singh did not pay any heed to government order and he continues to be posted at Siote. Despite being a Sub-Inspector Sukhdev is very powerful and he enjoys the patronage of some senior officers of the department. It is due to this reason that this police official is posted in Rajouri district for the past three years,” said sources. Sources said that some of the inspectors of Jammu & Kashmir have been placed in the different police lines and they are waiting for the posting for a long time now. They said that DTI post is meant for an Inspector and as such these inspectors could be posted on different positions of DTI. When contacted, Javed Mirza, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Headquarters Rajouri acknowledged the fact that Sukhdev was transferred, but could not be relieved. When asked about the reasons, the DSP said that since he is in a meeting it is better to call him some other time. |
