SRINAGAR, Sept 28: After a gap of 25 days less than 1,000 fresh cases of Corona Virus were reported in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir. With 824 new cases the total number of positive cases reached 73,014 with the death toll reaching 1146 following 14 fresh deaths.
Jammu district reported 337 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Srinagar district 105 deaths, Rajouri district 52 cases, Kupwara district 44 cases, Udhampur district 38 cases, Kathua district 37 cases, Pulwama district 33 cases, Samba district 29 cases, Budgam district 27 cases, Baramulla district 26 cases, Anantnag district 18 cases, Reasi district 14 cases, Ganderbal district 13 cases, Doda and Kishtwar districts 11 cases each, Poonch district 10 cases, Bandipora district nine cases, Shopian district eight cases and Kulgam & Ramban districts one case each.
Jammu district reported seven fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by a death each in Pulwama, Shopian, Bandipora, Udhampur, Ramban, Doda and Samba districts. So far 826 COVID-19 deaths have taken place in Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division the number of such deaths is 320.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 824 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 540 from Jammu division and 284 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 73,014. Also 14 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; 11 from Jammu division and three from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 1,408 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 831 from Jammu Division and 577 from Kashmir Division. Out of 73,014 positive cases, 17,601 are active positive, 54,267 have recovered and 1,146 have died; 320 in Jammu division and 826 in Kashmir division.
Out of 15, 81,606 test results available, 15, 08,592 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 5, 70,333 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 15,721 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 17,601 in isolation and 51,373 under home surveillance. Besides, 4, 84,492 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 14,490 positive cases, 2,105 active positive, 12,098 recovered, 287 deaths; Budgam has 4,791 positive cases, 1,045 active positive, 3,665 recovered, 81 deaths; Baramulla has 4,273 positive cases, 1,235 active positive, 2,916 recovered, 122 deaths; Pulwama has 3,885 positive cases, 451 active positive, 3,366 recovered, 68 deaths; Kupwara has 3,539 positive cases, 813 active positive, 2,660 recovered, 66 deaths.
“Anantnag district has 3,492 positive cases, 441 active positive, 2,989 recovered, 62 deaths; Bandipora has 3,363 positive cases, 563 active positive, 2,763 recovered, 37 deaths; Ganderbal has 2,844 positive cases, 459 active positive, 2,357 recovered, 28 deaths; Kulgam has 2,253 positive cases, 130 active positive, 2,080 recovered, 43 deaths and Shopian has 2,021 positive cases, 198 active positive, 1,791 recovered, 32 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 12,349 positive cases, 3,578 active positive, 8,597 recovered, 174 deaths; Rajouri has 2,565 positive cases, 1,268 active positive, 1267 recovered, 30 deaths; Doda has 2,159 positive cases, 1,119 active positive, 1,013 recovered, 27 deaths; Udhampur has 2,163 positive cases, 484 active positive, 1,664 recovered, 15 deaths; Kathua has 2,022 positive cases, 538 active positive, 1,463 recovered, 21 deaths.
“Poonch has 1,726 positive cases, 974 active positive, 740 recovered, 12 deaths; Samba has 1,694 positive cases, 805 active positive, 869 recovered, 20 deaths; Ramban has 1,295 positive cases, 456 active positive, 830 recovered, nine deaths; Kishtwar has 1,160 positive cases, 560 active positive, 593 recovered, seven deaths and Reasi has 930 positive cases, 379 active positive, 546 recovered, five deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 73,014 positive cases in J&K, 8,697 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
