“Back to village-III” programme commences in district Ramban | | | Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Oct 2: Government-public interface programme “Back to Village” today commenced in district Ramban to strengthen the Panchyati Raj Institutions of UT and give a renewed push to the planning and development efforts at the grassroots level. In first phase the programme was started in 67 panchyats of four blocks including Banihal, Khari , Ukhral and Ramsoo of district Ramban . On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti visiting officers also administered a pledge to PRIs and other participants for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in their areas In the morning session the visiting Gazetted officers were interacted with representatives of PRIs and general public and took the detail appraisal of their grievances and problems. They also visited in the panchyats and inspected schools, health institutions, AWCs, water bodies, tube wells, Paccha Paths ,water and power supply schemes, ongoing development works, implementation of flagship schemes besides private enterprises. In the evening they also interacted with the front line government functionaries and prominent citizen and discussed various core problems and issues being faced by the local of the panchyats. During the programme Sports kits were also distributed among the youths in various panchyats. Public expressed their keen interest in “Back to Village-III” programme. They highlighted their grievances and proposed various suggestions and measures to visiting officers for overall development of their villages. Earlier Public gave a warm welcome to the visiting officers to their panchyats.
