| First edition of Jammu Duathlon held | | |

JAMMU, Oct 2: Some of the finest athletes from Jammu braved the tough conditions and made their city proud by performing above their potential and excelling in the in the prestigious Jammu Duathlon 70.3 (First Edition) held on Friday morning. A total of 28 athletes from Jammu participated in Duathlon 70.3 including one woman.
Determined to win, 28 athletes gathered at the Koushal Farms, Bishnah to participate in the 1st edition of the Jammu Duathlon-2020. A Duathlon consists of running and cycling-the usual format is run-cycle-run. The event was conducted by the Jammu Hill Runners (JHR) and Jammu Hill Cyclist (JHC) Powered by AM Hyundai. The much-awaited annual event is Jammu’s largest open category Duathlon. It kick-started at 4 am with the flagging off by elite runner SP Surinder Choudhury. Participants of the Duathlon 70.3 started with 2 Km running, 90 Km Cycling and then finished with running leg 21 kms with final cut off time being 8:30 hours. The cycling and running course was challenging, with some good climbs and quick descents. But despite it being sunny and warm, the participants pushed themselves towards the finish line. To support the participants, the JHR and JHC had set up aid points at every km throughout the route (for hydration and refreshments). |
