Srinagar, Oct 12: The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army based in Srinagar has recognised four civilians, including two women, for their commendable work towards society in their respective fields, a Defence Ministry spokesman said on Monday. He said Ms Shabnum Kausar, Principal Army Goodwill School Bandipora, has raised the standard of education by her tireless work & never ending zeal. Miss Shehnaza Banu, a resident of Margi Dewar, Kupwara, works under National Rural Livelihood Mission and coordinates Self Help Groups (SHG) under Project Umeed. Her efforts have made regional Kashmiri women financially independent. He said 19-year-old Irfan Attari, resident of Budgam, heads Kashmir Youth Web and contributed in Anti-drug campaigns. Abdul Rashid, president Tangdhar Pahari Club and a pioneer of Anti-drug campaign in Karnah, Tangdhar, has worked selflessly during Covid-19 pandemic. He said GOC 15 Corps Lt General B S Raju awarded all the four persons. |
