JAMMU, Oct, 26: Principal Sessions Judge Samba MA Chowdhary rejected the bail applications of Aqib Ahmed and Hashim Rasool from whose possession Samba police recovered 4000 bottles of Corex.
While rejecting the bail application, Court after hearing Public Prosecutor Jawed Ahmed Khawaja observed that offence of which the applicants have been accused on conviction carries minimum sentence of 10 years imprisonment which may extend to 20 years imprisonment and fine of Rs 2 lakh, given to the severity of punishment, the offence is serious in nature. Otherwise also the menace of trade and use of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substance has become alarming to society in general and young generation in particular. This menace requires to be curbed with a heavy hand as it is eating into vitals of the polity.
