KATHUA, Oct 31: In pursuance to many programmes envisaged by J&K Police for strengthening the bond between the police and the public, further for the promotion of culture of playing games and to channelize the energies of the youth in positive direction, IRP 19 Bn today distributed equipment for various sports, IT lab and other logistical support items to various sports clubs and institutions in District Kathua under Civic Action Programme (CAP). IGP Armed/IRP Jammu Danesh Rana IPS was the chief guest on the occasion. During the day long programme, Hockey sports kits for Boys and Girls were distributed to Hockey Club at Hiranagar and also at village Lachhipur to senior team. Similarly, Volleyball kits were provided to Nagri Club and Sports and logistic support items like Inverter, Batteries, Blankets, Mattresses, Water pump etc were provided to Gujjar Bakarwal Hostel and Madrassa at Kanyari also. An IT Lab with Computers, CPU, projectors, screen and mikes etc was dedicated to Govt. Middle School Chak Drab Khan. On this occasion, the IGP Armed interacted with the participants and while addressing the participants conveyed that the main thrust of the CAP programs by J&K police is for the development of the people by providing better facilities for Sports, Recreation, Skill development etc. He said that it has always been an effort on the part of J&K police to provide a better platform for the youth interested in sports and under these initiatives , a number of tournaments have been organized successfully in recent times. |
