SRINAGAR, Nov 1: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 540 fresh cases of Corona Virus today following which the total number of positive cases reached 95,325. With four fresh deaths the total number of casualties is 1,482 in the union territory. Srinagar district reported 153 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Jammu district 108 cases, Baramulla district 87 cases, Pulwama district 29 cases, Budgam district 26 cases, Ganderbal district 23 cases, Udhampur district 22 cases, Kupwara district 20 cases, Anantnag district 13 cases, Kishtwar district nine cases, Bandipora district seven cases, Kulgam, Doda and Kathua districts six cases each, Shopian, Poonch and Ramban districts five cases each, Rajouri and Reasi districts four cases each and Samba district two cases. Srinagar, Jammu, Pulwama and Ganderbal districts each reported a fresh Corona Virus death in the past 24 hours or so. So far 986 virus related deaths have occurred in the Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division the number of such deaths is 496. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 540 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 171 from Jammu division and 369 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 95,325. Also four COVID-19 deaths have been reported; one from Jammu division and three from Kashmir Division. Moreover, 629 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 211 from Jammu Division and 418 from Kashmir Division. Out of 95,325 positive cases, 6,326 are active positive, 87,517 have recovered and 1,482 have died; 496 in Jammu division and 986 in Kashmir division. Out of 23, 24,411 test results available, 22, 29,086 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 6, 57,632 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 15,437 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 6,326 in isolation and 44,977 in home surveillance. Besides, 5, 89,410 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 19,522 positive cases, 1,420 active positive, 17,744 recovered, 358 deaths; Baramulla has 6,093 positive cases, 1,426 active positive, 4,522 recovered, 145 deaths; Budgam has 6,021 positive cases, 278 active positive, 5,649 recovered, 94 deaths; Pulwama has 4,685 positive cases, 206 active positive, 4,397 recovered, 82 deaths; Kupwara has 4,480 positive cases, 392 active positive, 4,015 recovered, 73 deaths. “Anantnag has 4,247 positive cases, 211 active positive, 3,962 recovered, 74 deaths; Bandipora has 4,047 positive cases, 185 active positive, 3,816 recovered, 46 deaths; Ganderbal has 3,572 positive cases, 203 active positive, 3,336 recovered, 33 deaths; Kulgam has 2,491 positive cases, 92 active positive, 2,353 recovered, 46 deaths and Shopian has 2,207 positive cases, 94 active positive, 2,078 recovered, 35 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 17,676 positive cases, 722 active positive, 16,696 recovered, 258 deaths; Rajouri has 3,201 positive cases, 59 active positive, 3,095 recovered, 47 deaths; Udhampur has 2,729 positive cases, 133 active positive, 2,564 recovered, 32 deaths; Doda has 2,661 positive cases, 111 active positive, 2,504 recovered, 46 deaths; Kathua has 2,453 positive cases, 65 active positive, 2,357 recovered, 31 deaths. “Poonch has 2,258 positive cases, 189 active positive, 2,047 recovered, 22 deaths; Samba has 2,176 positive cases, 272 active positive, 1,879 recovered, 25 deaths; Kishtwar has 1,924 positive cases, 93 active positive, 1,817 recovered, 14 deaths; Ramban has 1,601 positive cases, 84 active positive, 1,504 recovered, 13 deaths and Reasi has 1,281 positive cases, 91 active positive, 1,182 recovered, eight deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 95,325 positive cases in J&K, 9,801 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
