SRINAGAR, Nov 3: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 478 new cases of Corona Virus following which the total number of positive cases reached 96,188. With 12 fresh deaths the death toll due to the virus reached 1,502. Srinagar district reported 111 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Jammu district 106 cases, Baramulla district 66 cases, Budgam district 32 cases, Kishtwar district 23 cases, Ganderbal district 21 cases, Bandipora district 16 cases, Pulwama district 14 cases, Udhampur district 13 cases, Kathua and Anantnag districts 11 cases each, Rajouri district 10 cases, Samba and Reasi districts eight cases each, Doda district seven cases, Kupwara and Poonch districts six cases each and Kulgam, Shopian & Ramban districts three cases each. Srinagar district reported six fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by a death each in Jammu, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Ramban, Rajouri and Doda districts. So far 999 virus related deaths have taken place in Kashmir valley with the number of such deaths in Jammu division being 503. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 478 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 195 from Jammu division and 383 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 96,188. Also 12 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; four from Jammu division and eight from Kashmir Division. Moreover, 578 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 245 from Jammu Division and 378 from Kashmir Division. Out of 96,188 positive cases, 5,968 are active positive, 88,718 have recovered and 1,502 have died; 503 in Jammu division and 999 in Kashmir division. Out of 23, 66,741 test results available, 22, 70,553 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 6, 61,459 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 16,057 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5,968 in isolation and 44,638 in home surveillance. Besides, 5, 93,294 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 19,703 positive cases, 1,357 active positive, 17,980 recovered, 366 deaths; Baramulla has 6,228 positive cases, 1,388 active positive, 4,694 recovered, 146 deaths; Budgam has 6,070 positive cases, 244 active positive, 5,732 recovered, 94 deaths; Pulwama has 4,714 positive cases, 210 active positive, 4,421 recovered, 83 deaths; Kupwara has 4,518 positive cases, 404 active positive, 4,041 recovered, 73 deaths. “Anantnag has 4,266 positive cases, 189 active positive, 4,003 recovered, 74 deaths; Bandipora has 4,075 positive cases, 181 active positive, 3,848 recovered, 46 deaths; Ganderbal has 3,607 positive cases, 202 active positive, 3,371 recovered, 34 deaths; Kulgam has 2,495 positive cases, 79 active positive, 2,368 recovered, 48 deaths and Shopian has 2,223 positive cases, 93 active positive, 2,095 recovered, 35 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 17,890 positive cases, 683 active positive, 16,947 recovered, 260 deaths; Rajouri has 3,214 positive cases, 62 active positive, 3,104 recovered, 48 deaths; Udhampur has 2,744 positive cases, 124 active positive, 2,588 recovered, 32 deaths; Doda has 2,670 positive cases, 81 active positive, 2,542 recovered, 47 deaths; Kathua has 2,468 positive cases, 58 active positive, 2,379 recovered, 31 deaths. “Poonch has 2,267 positive cases, 146 active positive, 2,099 recovered, 22 deaths; Samba has 2,187 positive cases, 228 active positive, 1,934 recovered, 25 deaths; Kishtwar has 1,949 positive cases, 82 active positive, 1,852 recovered, 15 deaths; Ramban has 1,611 positive cases, 74 active positive, 1,522 recovered, 15 deaths and Reasi has 1,289 positive cases, 83 active positive, 1,198 recovered, eight deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 96,188 positive cases in J&K, 9,842 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
