With 280 new cases JK witnesses slight dip in fresh COVID-19 cases, nine fresh deaths | Positive cases 113568, active positive 5055, recovered 106758, casualties 1755 | | JEHANGIR RASHID Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Dec 7: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir witnessed a sharp dip in Corona Virus cases as just 280 cases of virus were reported today. The death toll due to the virus reached 1,755 as nine deaths were reported in past 24 hours. Jammu district reported 75 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Srinagar district 63 cases, Udhampur district 29 cases, Pulwama district 16 cases, Budgam district 15 cases, Doda and Kishtwar districts 12 cases each, Reasi district 11 cases, Kathua and Samba districts nine cases each, Baramulla and Rajouri districts six cases each, Ganderbal district five cases, Anantnag, Shopian and Ramban districts three cases each, Kulgam district two cases and Kupwara district one case. Jammu and Baramulla districts each reported two fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by a death each in Ganderbal, Kulgam, Udhampur, Reasi and Kishtwar districts. So far 1,130 people have lost their lives due to the virus in Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division 625 virus related deaths have taken place so far. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 280 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 166 from Jammu division and 114 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 13,568. Also nine COVID-19 deaths have been reported; five from Jammu division and four from Kashmir division. Moreover, 386 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 165 from Jammu division and 221 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 13,568 positive cases, 5,055 are active positive, 1, 06,758 have recovered and 1,755 have died; 625 in Jammu division and 1,130 in Kashmir division. Out of 31, 94,883 test results available, 30, 81,315 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 8, 08,500 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 20,814 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5,055 in isolation and 29,495 in home surveillance. Besides, 7, 51,381 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 23,751 positive cases, 1,182 active positive, 22,142 recovered, 427 deaths; Baramulla has 7,605 positive cases, 184 active positive, 7,256 recovered, 165 deaths; Budgam has 7,129 positive cases, 281 active positive, 6745 recovered, 103 deaths; Kupwara has 5,270 positive cases, 214 active positive, 4,971 recovered, 85 deaths; Pulwama has 5,207 positive cases, 168 active positive, 4,953 recovered, 86 deaths. "Anantnag has 4,620 positive cases, 115 active positive, 4,425 recovered, 80 deaths; Bandipora has 4,492 positive cases, 122 active positive, 4,315 recovered, 55 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,286 positive cases, 156 active positive, 4090 recovered, 40 deaths; Kulgam has 2,614 positive cases, 63 active positive, 2,499 recovered, 52 deaths and Shopian has 2,391 positive cases, 80 active positive, 2,274 recovered, 37 deaths," reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 21,504 positive cases, 814 active positive, 20,372 recovered, 318 deaths; Udhampur has 3,836 positive cases, 442 active positive, 3342 recovered, 52 deaths; Rajouri has 3,608 positive cases, 210 active positive, 3,348 recovered, 50 deaths; Doda has 3,229 positive cases, 176 active positive, 2,996 recovered, 57 deaths; Kathua has 2,911 positive cases, 111 active positive, 2,758 recovered, 42 deaths. "Kishtwar has 2,602 positive cases, 237 active positive, 2,344 recovered, 21 deaths; Samba has 2,569 positive cases, 240 active positive, 2,296 recovered, 33 deaths; Poonch has 2,410 positive cases, 42 active positive, 2,346 recovered, 22 deaths; Ramban has 1,995 positive cases, 100 active positive, 1,875 recovered, 20 deaths and Reasi has 1,539 positive cases, 118 active positive, 1,411 recovered, 10 deaths," reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 13,568 positive cases in J&K, 10,888 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
