JK reports 434 new cases of COVID-19, 11 fresh deaths; positive cases reach 115207 | Active positive 4849, recovered 108572, casualties 1786 | | JEHANGIR RASHID Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Dec 11: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 434 new cases of Corona Virus following which the total number of positive cases reached 1, 15,207. With 11 fresh deaths the death toll due to the virus reached 1,786. Jammu district reported 101 new cases of COVID-19 followed by Srinagar district 98 cases, Budgam district 36 cases, Kathua district 28 cases, Kupwara district 25 cases, Baramulla district 19 cases, Pulwama and Rajouri districts 17 cases each, Udhampur and Kishtwar districts 13 cases each, Bandipora and Ganderbal districts 11 cases each, Doda district 10 cases, Shopian and Ramban districts eight cases each, Samba district seven cases, Anantnag district six cases, Reasi district three cases, Poonch district two cases and Kulgam district one case. Jammu district in Jammu division reported four fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by Srinagar district in Kashmir valley, two deaths in Rajouri and a death each in Baramulla & Kathua districts. So far 1,145 virus related deaths have occurred in Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division the number of such deaths is 641. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 434 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 202 from Jammu division and 232 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 15,207. Also 11 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; seven from Jammu division and four from Kashmir division. Moreover, 422 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 226 from Jammu division and 196 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 15,207 positive cases, 4,849 are active positive, 1, 08,572 have recovered and 1,786 have died; 641 in Jammu division and 1,145 in Kashmir division. Out of 32, 94,008 test results available, 31, 78,801 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 8, 22,335 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 22,620 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 4,849 in isolation and 27,019 in home surveillance. Besides, 7, 66,061 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 24,072 positive cases, 1,135 active positive, 22,504 recovered, 433 deaths; Baramulla has 7,693 positive cases, 191 active positive, 7,336 recovered, 166 deaths; Budgam has 7,255 positive cases, 299 active positive, 6,851 recovered, 105 deaths; Kupwara has 5,347 positive cases, 193 active positive, 5,067 recovered, 87 deaths; Pulwama has 5,266 positive cases, 188 active positive, 4,991 recovered, 87 deaths. "Anantnag has 4,652 positive cases, 125 active positive, 4,445 recovered, 82 deaths; Bandipora has 4,524 positive cases, 104 active positive, 4,364 recovered, 56 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,327 positive cases, 163 active positive, 4,124 recovered, 40 deaths; Kulgam has 2,624 positive cases, 66 active positive, 2,506 recovered, 52 deaths; Shopian has 2,405 positive cases, 87 active positive, 2,281 recovered, 37 deaths," reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 21,954 positive cases, 796 active positive, 20,834 recovered, 324 deaths; Udhampur has 3,909 positive cases, 393 active positive, 3,463 recovered, 53 deaths; Rajouri has 3,676 positive cases, 237 active positive, 3,387 recovered, 52 deaths; Doda has 3,274 positive cases, 173 active positive, 3,043 recovered, 58 deaths; Kathua has 2,982 positive cases, 125 active positive, 2,812 recovered, 45 deaths. "Kishtwar has 2,643 positive cases, 153 active positive, 2,469 recovered, 21 deaths; Samba has 2,607 positive cases, 197 active positive, 2,376 recovered, 34 deaths; Poonch has 2,417 positive cases, 35 active positive, 2,360 recovered, 22 deaths; Ramban has 2,025 positive cases, 91 active positive, 1,913 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,555 positive cases, 98 active positive, 1446 recovered, 11 deaths," reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 15,207 positive cases in J&K, 10,965 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
