Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 30: Congress on Wednesday chided outspoken BJP president Ravinder Raina for losing the prestigious Nowshera District Development Council (DDC) seat to the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).
“After enjoying power with the same party, Ravinder Raina round the clock criticized the PDP by dubbing it as ‘anti-national’ but the candidate of same party has given a befitting reply to BJP president by winning DDC seat from Nowshera which is his home and assembly constituency”, J&K Congress Committee chief G A Mir said, adding “Victory of PDP candidate from Nowshera DDC seat is severe setback to BJP in general and Raina in particular. He said that Raina has managed to win second seat by thin margin. Replying to a query regarding derogatory remarks used by Raina against Congress leaders, Mir said that one can gauge Raina’s popularity by going through the comments which people made on his (Raina’s) post on the social media. “Some people called BJP president as joker”, he said and regretted that Raina has no decency in attacking his political rivals. “There should be political decency while criticizing political rivals but Raina lacked such decency”, he said.
Important to mention that early in the month of November 2019, Mir had suffixed BJP president with the title of “Joker”. On November 19, Mir had publicly called Raina as 'joker' and asserted that none of the Congress leaders needed a certificate of patriotism from a joker like Ravinder Raina.
Mir was replying to a question of a reporter who sought his reply about Raina's comment in which he (Raina) had termed Congress leaders as 'anti-national'. "None of the Congress leaders need a certificate of nationalism from a joker like Ravinder Raina", Mir replied.
