SRINAGAR, Jan 24: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 73 new cases of Corona Virus following which the total number of positive cases reached 1, 24,019. Eight districts of the union territory reported no fresh case while no virus related death came to the fore since the past 24 hours. Jammu district reported 29 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Srinagar district 13 cases, Budgam district seven cases, Anantnag and Ganderbal districts five cases each, Baramulla and Pulwama districts three cases each, Kupwara, Bandipora and Shopian districts two cases each and Udhampur & Kathua districts one case each. No case was reported from Kulgam, Rajouri, Doda, Samba, Kishtwar, Poonch, Ramban and Reasi districts. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 73 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 31 from Jammu division and 42 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 24,019. Also no COVID-19 death has been reported from any part of Jammu and Kashmir division respectively. Moreover, 73 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 30 from Jammu division and 43 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 24,019 positive cases, 1,103 are active positive, 1, 20,987 have recovered and 1,929 have died; 719 in Jammu division and 1,210 in Kashmir division. Out of 44, 02,248 test results available, 42, 78,229 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 10, 81,042 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 34,955 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 1,103 in isolation and 96,535 in home surveillance. Besides, 9, 46,520 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 26,018 positive cases, 261 active positive, 25,304 recovered, 453 deaths; Baramulla has 8,084 positive cases, 51 active positive, 7,860 recovered, 173 deaths; Budgam has 7,751 positive cases, 57 active positive, 7,577 recovered, 117 deaths; Pulwama has 5,693 positive cases, 61 active positive, 5,544 recovered, 88 deaths; Kupwara has 5,642 positive cases, 42 active positive, 5,505 recovered, 95 deaths. “Anantnag has 4,878 positive cases, 50 active positive, 4,744 recovered, 84 deaths; Bandipora has 4,687 positive cases, 26 active positive, 4,600 recovered, 61 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,594 positive cases, 79 active positive, 4,469 recovered, 46 deaths; Kulgam has 2,689 positive cases, 33 active positive, 2,602 recovered, 54 deaths and Shopian has 2,562 positive cases, 39 active positive, 2,484 recovered, 39 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 24,866 positive cases, 250 active positive, 24,246 recovered, 370 deaths; Udhampur has 4,194 positive cases, 30 active positive, 4,113 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,867 positive cases, five active positive, 3,807 recovered, 55 deaths; Doda has 3,428 positive cases, three active positive, 3,361 recovered, 64 deaths; Kathua has 3,253 positive cases, six active positive, 3,196 recovered, 51 deaths. “Samba has 2,826 positive cases, 75 active positive, 2,711 recovered, 40 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,731 positive cases, two active positive, 2,707 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,489 positive cases, 30 active positive, 2,435 recovered, 24 deaths; Ramban has 2,130 positive cases, five active positive, 2,104 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1637 positive cases, four active positive, 1,618 recovered, 15 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 24,019 positive cases in J&K, 11,531 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
