JAMMU, Feb 1: General Court Martial consisting of seven members including Presiding Officer have been found accused in the Canteen Clerk SRC Naidu guilty of eight charges and sentenced him to dismissal from service and sentenced to seven years rigourous imprisonment here. The case pertains to misappropriation of canteen sale proceeds of HQ 2 Signal Training Centre, Panjim Goa. As per prosecution accused S R C Naidu was posted as canteen clerk from mid 2014 to Jan 2017 when scam came to light as one of cheque pertaining to purchase of canteen articles from Canteen Store Depot, Bangalore could not be cleared due to lack of funds in canteen account of HQ 2 Signal Training Centre, Panajim Goa. After court of inquiry and summary of evidence, accused S R C Naidu was charged for 12 counts under Army Act. Prosecution was effectively conducted by K S Pathania, Advocate Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Jammu, whose services were employed by HQ Maharashtra, Gujarat & Goa Area. Prosecution lead evidence through 32 witnesses and produced 125 documents as exhibits.
