Withdraw farms bills without further delay: Manjit Singh to GoI | | | Early Times Report
VIJAYPUR, Feb 1: Former Minister and Apni Party Provincial President Jammu Manjit Singh today appealed to the Govt of India to withdraw farm bills. In a statement to the press, Manjit Singh said that the Govt should not confront the farmers and roll back the bills which are not in their favour. “Govt should not abandon the adamant attitude against the farmers and accept the demands of the farmers who have been on the Delhi Border from last over two months,” said Manjit Singh. He said that the trouble makers should be punished under the law strictly since they have tried to fuel the peaceful atmosphere of the country. Manjit Singh said that “The Govt should listen to the farmers and cooperate with them. These farmers are holding protests peacefully and they never resort to any type of violent acts despite repeated provocations.” Lakhs of farmers from across the country have joined protests at Sindu border in Delhi. He expressed his deep concern over the violence at the protest site, and demanded that a high level probe should be ordered. “How can the group of people close the protest site and pelt stones on the peacefully protesting farmers? Questioned Manjit Singh and demanded that the miscreants should be booked for trying to spread violence. He said that “The delay in accepting demands of the farmers may create more problems.” |
