EARLY TIMES REPORT
DODA, Feb 1: DDC member Ghat constituency Gulshan Ara has asked government to come to the rescue of people in these difficult times. She said that her constituency, which has a vast hilly area, is deprived of basic amenities which should have been made available to people long back. Addressing a press conference here today she raised issues of electricity, roads, water, health, education and job card issues of MGNREGA workers. She said that during rain and snow power remains off in rural areas where wires are hanging over trees instead of poles. "During rainy days these wires get damage and electricity gets snapped. People are yet to see regular power supply despite being producers of hydro power," she said. The DDC member said that potable water has remained a cause of concern for the people since long and PHE department has failed to provide water to every hamlet. On the issue of roads, she demanded black topping of existing roads and covering others areas where people are yet to see a vehicle in their life time. "Besides providing road network to every area, we demanded immediate construction of road to Dal Draman tourist spot which will fetch tourists from all over if given the priority," Ara added. She also demanded opening of health centres at far off areas and deployment of staff there. "Government should give the staff to these health centres and it will be our job to take work from them. Similarly, every school should be given proper staff and we will ensure that they do justice to their job," she added. She also demanded that every job card holder should be provided 100 days of work under MGNREGA. |
