Dachhan people celebrate Pooja Bhandari’s win in DDC elections

JAMMU, Feb 20: After NC candidate Pooja Bhandari and Saima Shabir Lone won DDC Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson elections, the local areas from where both females belonged erupted into joy with people from Dachhan and Mughal Maidan responded overwhelmingly for getting the representation in Kishtwar District Development Council (DDC).
Speaking to Early Times, Som Nath Bhandari resident of Lopara Dachhan, District Kishtwar who also happens to be the father-in-law of Pooja Bhandari expressed his heartiest thanks to Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah, Devinder Singh Rana, Tanveer Ahamed Kichloo and Sajjad Ahamed Kichloo to be kind enough to nominate Pooja Bhandari for a prestigious post of DDC Chairperson, adding that she will come up to their expectations and will work for the poor and downtrodden people.
Som Nath Bhandari laid emphasis to work jointly for bringing an end to the dark era through which people of Marwah Sub Division are undergoing all through these years.
Political and social activist from Warwan, Muzzafar Lone also expressed his happiness over the win of Bhandari and Lone with the hope that both newly elected female representatives will come upto the expectations of the masses by proving stereotypes wrong.
Ghulam Rasool Magrey from Marwah told the Early Times that it is a great opportunity for the newly elected Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson to work with zeal and zest towards flourishing new era of development and hope that government will give all powers to District Development Council to decide and carry out with developmental programmes in respective districts.
