Mehbooba Mufti holds meeting

Srinagar, Jan 22: PDP President Mehbooba Mufti today chaired an important meeting of District Srinagar leaders to review the party’s organisational preparedness and ongoing political activities.
During the meeting, Mehbooba Mufti asked party leaders and workers to intensify public outreach at the grassroots level and strengthen direct contact with the people. She emphasized that PDP must remain closely connected with public aspirations and issues through sustained engagement at the ward and mohalla levels.
Party General Secretary Mohammad Khursheed Aalam, while addressing the meeting, said, “PDP has always stood with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Strengthening our presence at the grassroots is essential to understand public pain and effectively raise their concerns on every platform.
Ex minister Aasiya Naqash, while speaking on the occasion, said that women’s participation and inclusive politics remain central to PDP’s vision. “Empowering people at the grassroots, especially women and youth, is essential for building a strong and responsive political movement,” she said.
Spokesperson Zuhaib Yousuf Mir said that the party leadership has given a clear roadmap to reconnect with the masses. “Under the leadership of Mehbooba Mufti, our focus will remain on youth issues, unemployment, and safeguarding the rights of the people at the local level,” he added.
PDP former state Sectarary Arif Laigroo said that grassroots engagement remains the backbone of the party’s politics. “We will intensify door-to-door outreach in Srinagar to listen to people’s grievances and work collectively to address their issues,” he said
Earlier, Distric president Abdul Qayoom Bhat thanked PDP President Mehbooba Mufti for her guidance and leadership. He also expressed gratitude to all senior leaders, district office bearers, and zone presidents for their participation and commitment to strengthening the party organisation in District Srinagar.

Mehbooba Mufti reiterated that PDP’s politics is rooted in public service, accountability, and people-centric governance, and called upon party leaders to work with unity and dedication to further strengthen the party’s organisational base across District Srinagar.
