Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Mar 6: As many as 25 passengers were airlifted between Srinagar and border town of Kargil in Union Territory (UT) of Ladakh which remained cut off due to closure of the national highway, connecting the region with Kashmir valley. Officials told UNI this evening that today, 5 passengers, including 1 patient were airlifted from Kargil to Srinagar, in Mi-172 Pawan Hans Helicopter. Similarly, 20 passengers, including one infant, from Srinagar to Kargil today, they said. Hundreds of passengers were airlifted between Kargil, Leh, Srinagar, Jammu and Chandigrah since the Srinagar-Leh national highway was closed from January Ist, this year due to accumulation of snow and avalanches. |
