Palm Sunday procession taken out with religious fervour | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 28: Palm Sunday was observed here today with traditional religious fervour and gaiety. Palm Sunday is the commemoration of the triumphal entry of Jesus in Jerusalem the Holy City. People over there welcomed Him with great joy and happiness by holding the palm branches (as a symbol of victory and peace) and hailed Jesus as the king who comes in the name of the Lord. The fact is that Jesus entry in Jerusalem was not an ordinary entry but His entry in the Holy City is to reveal the fullness of the mystery of the Easter i.e. His passion, death and resurrection. This is the beginning of the Holy Week in all over the Church. Observing the day here along with the whole world the faithful of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Prem Nagar with great faith and devotion participated in the Palm Sunday procession led by Fr. Kuriakose and Fr. Jafat Masih. After the initial prayer at St. Peter's Catholic Church Prem Nagar campus all moved towards Christian Colony, with songs of Hosanna. Then the peaceful procession moved through the streets of Christian Colony and the procession culminated at St. Peter's Catholic Church campus. The faithful participated in the Holy Mass and other prayer services. During the procession the faithful was praying and the choir was singing Hosanna! Hosanna! On the way the purpose of the event was explained and the message was proclaimed. Hundreds of people took part in the procession and thus the whole procession was conducted so beautifully and meaningfully.
