CBJ chargesheets Revenue officials, accused beneficiary for forgery of land documents

JAMMU, Apr 22: Crime Branch Jammu (CBJ) produced chargesheet against some Revenue officials and accused beneficiary for their involvement in forging land documents.
The chargesheet was produced against Mohinder Singh S/o Rangeel Singh R/O Jeevan Nagar, Digiana, Jammu, Waryam Singh then Patwari Chak Chua (Now Girdawar Retd) and Sarban Dass S/O Gouri Shankar R/O Dabuj, Samba (deceased) in the Court of law in case 33/2015 U/S 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120-B RPC r/w Section 5(2) P.C. Act Svt.2006 for their involvement in hatching criminal conspiracy with Revenue Authorities concerned in forging Revenue documents with respect to a piece of land measuring 8 kanals and 7 marlas belonging to the complainant and getting it transferred in favour of the accused. The chargesheet has been produced in the Special Session Anti-Corruption Court, Jammu for judicial determination.
A written complaint was lodged in Crime Branch Jammu by complainant Ranjit Singh S/o Late Gian Singh R/o Sial Sui, Tehsil Kalakote District Rajouri, alleging therein that his father had purchased a piece of land, measuring 16 Kanals and 14 Marlas, falling under Khasra No.182/121, situated at Chak Chua, Tehsil Bishnah District Jammu duly mutated vide mutation No.119 dated 08.10.1979. However, the accused Mohinder Singh, who was never in cultivating possession of the said land, connived with the Patwari and the Naib Tehsildar concerned and got land measuring 8 Kanals 7 Marlas mutated in his name showing his cultivating possession of the year 1971, dishonestly and fraudulently by forging the official records and thereafter transferred the said land in favour of accused Sarban Dass S/o Mangu Ram R/O Chak Bana,Tehsil Bishnah District Jammu and Ch Dwarka Nath S/O Babu Ram R/O Sanjay Nagar, Jammu for huge monetary consideration in gross violation of the J&K Agrarian Reforms Act.
On receipt of the complaint a preliminary verification was initiated by Crime Branch Jammu and during the course of verification allegations were prima facie substantiated, which led to the registration of the instant criminal case against the accused for in-depth investigation of the case. During the course of investigation documentary, oral, circumstantial and other material evidence was collected which has fully established offences U/S 5 (2) P. C. Act and U/S 420,465,467,468,471,120-B/RPC against accused, barring accused No. 1 against whom offences were proved under RPC sections only.
