Awareness programme on Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana organized | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 6: In continuation to his efforts for the welfare of the farming community Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer (SDAO) Marh Dr. Ashwani Kr. Jojra under the directions of Director Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Jammu K.K. Sharma and guidance of Chief Agriculture Officer Jammu Dr. A. S. Reen held a series of farmers awareness programs regarding Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) at different villages of Zone MARH Jammu. While addressing a large gathering of farmers present on the occasion Dr. Ashwani Kumar Jojra deliberated that PMFBY was launched in Kharif 2016 by the Union Govt. with an aim to support production in agriculture by providing an affordable crop insurance product to ensure comprehensive risk cover for crops of farmers against all non-preventable natural risks from pre sowing to post harvest stage. He further informed that the scheme has successfully completed 8 crop seasons and is being implemented across the UT of J&K. All the farmers including share choppers and tenant farmers growing the notified crops in the notified crops are eligible for the coverage under PMFBY. The participants were very enthusiastic about the programme and gave a patient hearing to the deliberations made by Dr. Jojra. An interactive session was also held for clearing the doubts (if any) of the farmers regarding the PM Fasal Bima Yojana. The officers present on the occasion were AEO Marh Dr. Vikram Katryal, JAEO's Dr. Manu Mehta, Dr. Ajay Pal, Dr. Balbir Sing and AEAs Dr. Rinku Sharma and Dr. Munir Ahmed. Representatives from IFFCO TOKIO General Insurance Company Tahir Ahmed (District Coordinator) and Balbir Singh were also present. |
