PCPG meeting held with women folks in Chandrakote

RAMBAN, July 6: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramban P.D.Nitya, along with ASP Ramban Rajni Sharma, SHO Chandrakote Insp Vijay Choudhary organized a PCPG meeting with women folks from Kadma, Sawni, Kunfer and Chandrakote Panchayats following all the covid19 protocols.
The lady Sarpanch and panches played a pivotal role in organizing this event where a large number of young girls, mainly students, working women and other ladies participated.
At the outset of the meeting, ASP Ramban welcomed all the participants and congratulated them to spare time from their busy schedules to come and interact with District police.
The interaction started with the address of SSP Ramban about how it is difficult for women to chalk out a space of her own in the outside competitive world and the importance of staying strong willed in tough circumstances.
She emphasized on different nuances of domestic violence, abuse which women suffer and how to talk about it and reach out to police. Issues related to importance of education and career planning was discussed with special focus on how to be financially independent in order to take important decisions in life.
Young girls present in the meeting were full of hopes and energy looking forward to their future and interacted enthusiastically.
Lastly the role of social media and how mindfully it should be used was discussed in which emphasis was laid on to how to take privacy issues seriously and to beware of cyber crime which can be committed by any virtual person taking the advantage of ignorance of the user.
The whole function was well received and it was the first of its kind of an event to be organized in District Ramban exclusively for the women folks to come out and interact with the police.
ASP Ramban gave the vote of thanks and more such functions are expected to be conducted to make policing more women friendly and address the issues of crime against women.
